Lawn and Garden Grand Opening Impacts Central Louisiana Kids

Wal-mart Oakdale recently hosted a Lawn and Garden Grand Opening on April 7th and donated all proceeds to their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital (CMN), CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
Store Manager, Robert Scothorn and his energetic staff welcomed special guests, Tony the Tiger, Ernie the Keebler Elf and M & M.    Kids and adults enjoyed snow cones, refreshments, drawings, games, face painting and a Grow Your Own Vegetable session.
Debbie Riley and Yolanda Tilley, two local Oakdale Wal-mart employees and champions for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, helped organize a fun community event that raised much needed funds for CHRISTUS Cabrini’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Therapy Center and 17 rural School Based Health Centers.

CHRISTUS Cabrini Hospital is one of the largest pediatric clinical care providers in the state, serving over 270 kids daily.  It is a not-for-profit healthcare system dedicated to the vision that all people in Central Louisiana receive world-class health care through the healing grace of Jesus Christ, with special concern for the poor and under served.
Wal-mart Oakdale’s help in funding children’s healthcare could not come at a better time, as many not-for-profit hospitals are struggling to continue services that save children’s lives.  With selfless partners such as Wal-mart, children’s hospital are sustaining their critical services, lifesaving equipment and education needed to serve the tiniest in our local population.

Tony the Tiger thinks that Wal-mart Oakdale is GREAAAAAT!
